The Brookfield Public Library provides a wide variety of materials, services and programs for people of all ages.
In 2007 the Library circulated 673,169 items; answered 117,156 reference questions; had 302,752 visitors; and, presented 388 children’s programs with 19,634 participants and 162 adult programs with 2,515 attendees.
The Library is a member of the Waukesha County Federated Library System as well as of the CAFE shared automation consortium. This provides library users with access to about 600,000 titles and 1.5 million items. A "universal" library card serves as the key to checking out these items at 14 of the 16 public libraries in the County.
